The 2009 Victorian Bushfire Appeal Fund to assist individuals and communities affected by devastating bushfires in Victoria was launched by the Victorian Government in partnership with the Red Cross and the Australian Government. An independent panel made up of community leaders is overseeing the Appeal Funds operation. The Victorian Government is distributing the funds through the Department of Human Services.
